Yesterday I posted in our Español site about a rumor that Windows 7 would allow users the ability to uninstall (actually disable) Internet Explorer. The rumor was confirmed today in the Engineering Windows 7 blog, maintained by the project’s engineers.
Additionally to being able to disable IE, and all the options already offered in Vista, the following will also be available to be easily disabled.
- Windows Media Player
- Windows Media Center
- Windows DVD Maker
- Internet Explorer 8
- Windows Search
- Handwriting Recognition (through the Tablet PC Components option)
- Windows Gadget Platform
- Fax and Scan
- XPS Viewer and Services (including the Virtual Print Driver)
